Ghost Glock 23 - Ghost ring sights are something I've always been interested in, but never had the chance to mess with - until recently when AMERIGLO sent me a set of Glock Ghost Ring sights that fit the Glock 17/19 platform. I chose these sights because I don't see them very often and I was curious if they would offer any advantages or disadvantages over traditional three-dot or notch-and-post sights. For details, I selected a pair of AMERIGLO GL-325 Ghost Ring Sights and used them on a Glock 19 Gen 4 pistol.

The GL-325 Ghost Ring Sights come in a compact package and are easy to install. If you've never installed Glock sights, there are several YouTube videos online that will show you safe and effective ways to install them, or if you want an easy way out, you can have a Glock Certified Armorer install and push them correctly for you.

The tritium inside the rear and front sights were very new and started to glow even before sunset. The auxiliary view was a bright green front display and that single view turned out to be both beneficial and detrimental depending on the situation in my opinion. After looking at the items and moving, it was time to pick up the ringer to see what was going on when looking at the ghost rings.

My trip to different places with my friend Tom was enlightening to say the least. Along with the Glock 19 with a ring sight, we also brought the Glock 34 with a rear sight and a small red dot sight to compare and contrast the two styles. While it wasn't an apples-to-apples comparison, it was the best we could do with the equipment we had, and I feel it was enough to show me the vast and simple differences the two styles offer to the shooter. .

Even if it's not perfectly balanced, the green dot inside the ring means you can hit the target - measured to the very end of the ring, it was only three inches wide as seen in the target below. (difference was ~4-5 yards)

The first thing I noticed when looking at the scope of the AMERIGLO Ghost ring was that the feel was similar to what you would see through a Leupold Deltapoint Micro red dot scope (but without the added magnification). This made me feel like I could shoot more confidently with both eyes without looking out of place. What I think is going on here is that the front sight is more of a "dot" than the image combined with the rear ghost ring and this makes it easier to shoot with both eyes. At distances between 3 and 10 yards, I was able to produce very fast fire groups using both sights.

What was surprising to me and my friend was that the time from shooting to target was reduced by using ghost eyes and rings. Although I had never used them before, I felt that aiming the gun and hitting the target was more natural due to the "circling within the circle" pattern than the traditional exercises that require "equal height" to be on the target. The best analogy I have for this is similar to putting an A2 metal sight on your rifle, but with a much brighter sight that leads to much faster shooting times than a normal configuration.

Review: Shadow Systems Corp Mr918

At close range (areas that I would consider to be in the defensive area) the AMERIGLO Ghost Ring Sights performed admirably. I was able to capture the target quickly and consistently and remain acceptably accurate at that distance. At that distance, however, I got very low results. At distances beyond 10 yards, I have found the traditional sights and sights to be very accurate. What is happening here is that the rear sight gives you your front sight and a solid 3 position in relation to where your front sight should be. Although the ghost ring pattern has two rear tritium dots that point to the front dot, this arrangement is not as accurate as the old pattern.

Overall, I would say that this would be a great weapon to use as a sport weapon or a handgun that you can prepare for self-defense or home defense. Like any other good type of weapon and gun, you should buy two, install them, and train and test them before you use them for everyday use or home defense because the pros and cons I've listed here may or may not apply. with you.

The biggest takeaway I've found here is that while it may not be useful for long engagements when you're close, looking for ghost rings can give you a lot of red dot benefits without worrying about batteries or anything else. more that comes with it. I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts on ghost ring displays. Have you ever used it? Would you consider using it instead of any other type of content you want?
